The University of Alabama will award some 2,077 degrees during winter commencement Dec. 16. Two SMC students were elected to serve as president and vice president of the Student Government Association for the 2018-2019 school year. The other two officers and representatives for each class will be elected in September. The Student Government Association (SGA) is the main representative body for students at Spartanburg Methodist College. Students elected to an office serve a one-year term.
Eleven Coastal Carolina University students were inducted into the university's chapter of Eta Sigma Gamma, an honor society that promotes academic achievement and research in the field of health education.

A total of 12,594 students enrolled during the 2017 fall semester at The University of Alabama were named to the Dean's List with an academic record of 3.5 or above or the President's List with an academic record of 4.0 (all A's). The UA Dean's and President's lists recognize full-time undergraduate students. The lists do not apply to graduate students or undergraduate students who take less than a full course load.

Wofford's Interim is a time for exploration and experiential learning away from the rigors of traditional academic courses for students and faculty alike. Students may choose from a variety of on-campus courses, professional internships and research projects, study abroad opportunities or their own independent study project, approved and guided by a faculty advisor.
